RELOAD (Representative Live in Orientation for AMSA Delegates) AMSA 2012 which was previously known as Reptrain AMSA was held in Medical Faculty, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) in Mei 2012 by AMSA UGM. It took a theme “Be the Spark and Start the Fire”. The RELOAD in this year not only offered lecture classes and outbound, but also introduced the “Live In” concept which packed into many kinds of activities, so all the delegations of AMSA Indonesia as candidates of medical people in the future whom had humanity spirit could learn many things from it. The RELOAD was held for 4 days and 3 nights, exactly from Thursday, May, 3, 2012 until Sunday, May, 6, 2012.
The first agenda in the first day was welcoming party. Yet, the delegations of AMSA Brawijaya could not attend because of the thickly schedules of the classes. The delegations of AMSA Brawijaya arrived in Yogyakarta at 2 am on Friday, so the delegations of AMSA Brawijaya could join the Reload on the second day. The activity of the second day was some lecture classes which was divided into five parts of lecture classes. The first lecture class was with dr. I Putu Yuda Hananta as the speaker and discussed about health issues entitled “Surmounting Health Disparity across Asia as One Region”. The aim of this lecture class was for a preparation for Indonesian AMSA Delegations in an International Meeting AMSC 2012 in Filipina in the next schedule. AMSC 2012 which will be held in Filipina bringing an important issue concerning the differences health degree among nations which is as a result of globalizations and modernizations. This issue is thought as an appropriate theme to be issued by the delegations because it showed the real condition in Indonesia.
The second lecture class was about leadership which was presented by Prof. Dr. dr. Soenarto Sastrowijoto, Sp. THT entitled Leadership: I Lead. The aim was for preparing the delegations as a leader in the future. Every leader had to have leadership characteristic because it would be the first asset of a leader to lead either themselves or others (communities or organizations). This lecture class had succeeded motivate the delegations to burn their leadership spirit and to teach them how to sharpen it. The next lecture class, the delegations was divided into two classes. Three delegations got proposal lecture class and the others got fund rising lecture class. These two lecture classes had the same purpose, namely to know how to get the fund. It took a title “Proposals: Made for purposes” which was presented by Ganang Adjie S. and “Fundrising: Be (Not) Greedy” by Thomas Aquino Pramudya Wardhana, S.Sing, S.Sn, M.A.
The fourth lecture class was public speaking entitled Communication Skill. The purpose was to help the delegations as a leader candidate for having a good communication skill so they could lead the people as well. This lecture class was given by Mayda Putri Setyastuti and Dian Ardhini Hapsari. The last lecture was lecture class of Javanese language entitled Basaning Manah. It was given by dr. Ide Pustaka Setiawan aimed for giving knowledge to the delegations to be able in adapting their selves with the village inhabitants in the next activity which took a “Live In” concept.
After all the lecture classes’ activity in the second day was done, the delegations went to the Bejiharjo village, Gunung Kidul. In the village, the delegations were divided into some small groups to live with some hosts. Each delegation would live and join the activities of each host of their own until noon in the third day. This “Live In” concept invited the delegations to join the habitual and activities of their host, such as farming. This concept became a challenge for each delegation because they had to adapt with the new environment. Yet, delegations of AMSA Brawijaya were lucky because the condition in the Yogyakarta and Malang city was not quite different so that the delegations of AMSA Brawijaya did not have a significance difficulty in adapting the new environment.
In the afternoon in the third day, there was an outbound aimed to teach the delegations many kinds of leaderships values such as survival, problem solving, and teamwork. This activity took place in some location in the village. The differences between this outbound with the previous was the game which could be done in Bejiharjo village only, namely exploring Pindul Cave and rafting in Oyo river. This activity automatically introduced the nature tourism places in the Bejiharjo village which have not been discovered yet by the people. In the evening, farewell party was held equipped with the activity of exchange some goods with points which had been gotten from the Reload activities. These goods which was gotten from the exchange activity was used for the activity in the next day, that was counseling.
The last day, the delegations had been divided in a group to run the mission named Reject (Reload Project). Reject (Reload Project) was a counseling activity toward the village inhabitants as gratitude to the inhabitants who had provided a home stay and gave their kindness with a lot of good memories to the delegations. The last schedule was city tour. Yet, the delegation of AMSA Brawijaya could not join because they had to go back to Malang as soon as possible to continue our study in the following day.
